In this retreat, you will receive instruction from MuShim, a masterful teacher whose own life has been enhanced by Qigong practice.  Her heartfelt desire is to share the joy and health benefits of Qigong with you.

Ki is the power of our lives and Qigong is the study and practice of Ki energy.   MuShim says that without realizing it, people use and feel energy all the time.  They feel it through their thoughts, their feelings, and even through their pain.  In this retreat, you will quickly become more conscious of energy and will awaken a new dimension to self-reliance for health.

Qigong exercises will enable you to open your meridian channels.  Once the energy is flowing freely throughout your body, you will discover how to accumulate that energy by using controlled breathing and specific Qigong movements.  Then, with focus, you will guide the energy to where it is needed—improving your physical, mental, and spiritual health.  Deep meditation and insights will naturally occur as the flow and awareness of energy increases.

Qigong will do more for you than you could ever imagine.  Unlike some other forms of exercise, you are not encouraged to push beyond your body’s limits.  Because of that, you won’t risk injuring yourself and will have the space to focus on the internal energetic activities taking place within.  It is a practice you can continue throughout your lifetime.  While it is extremely powerful, it is balanced by a gentleness that turns resistance into harmony.  This retreat is for all ages and abilities and offers a great deal of individualized instruction from a masterful and kind instructor.  It is for people who have never practiced Qigong, advanced students and those who fall anywhere in-between.

Meet Your Guide: Mu-Shim

MuShim

MuShim knows first-hand the power of Qigong.  Born in Korea, she came to America 30 years ago with her family, attending college at the Art Institute of Atlanta—where she studied graphic design and commercial art.  When MuShim was 40 years old her health began to deteriorate and she developed heart and joint problems. After starting to practice Qigong, her healing began.  MuShim says, “It not only helped me physically, I also noticed that I was very calm and happy.”  After experiencing these amazing benefits, MuShim started practicing Qigong seriously and has been doing so for the past twelve years under the tutelage of Ilchi Lee, the founder of DahnMuDo, a Korean version of Qigong based on Sun Tao Principles.  Just before coming to Sedona Mago Retreat, MuShim spent five years studying and practicing DahnMuDo in Korea, where it originated.  She is excited to be offering a Qigong healing retreat at Sedona Mago Retreat so that more people can experience its benefits.
